Dawn is a mother, photographer, technology expert, gym enthusiast, and what she proudly calls a “THRIVER” rather than a domestic violence survivor. She previously served as the Chair of the Domestic Violence Task Force for the Prince George’s County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Under her leadership, the committee made significant progress in raising awareness, including launching the Chapter’s first-ever public billboard in Capitol Heights, MD and provided valuable resources about domestic violence within the community. Dawn’s journey is especially notable as she continues to co-parent with her ex-husband, who was responsible for her abuse. She is committed to inspiring, empowering, and educating victims on their path to healing, while also helping others identify the warning signs of different forms of abuse. Her mission is to break generational curses and contribute to the ongoing fight against domestic violence.
