Dr. Tracy O. Garrett holds a dual doctorate in Clinical and Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Garrett has been with Progressive Life Center for more than 20 years and is responsible for managing the organization’s performance and quality improvement operations and clinical development services. This includes but is not limited to the stewardship of Progressive Life Center’s approach to health and healing NTU™ Psychotherapy, child welfare, juvenile justice, and behavioral healthcare services. Dr. Garrett is a licensed psychologist who has over 30 years of experience in the field of mental health. She has worked in a variety of clinical, school, government, and community settings. 

She has also been an independent consultant in the Washington Metropolitan Area for more than 20 years where she has provided training in schools, government agencies, non-profits, for profits, churches and professional organizations.

Her specialty is in the areas of clinical, community, team and organizational development. Dr. Garrett is a life member of the Association of Black Psychologists, a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a life member of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and a life member of the AARP. In her self-care time Dr. Garrett enjoys tennis, church, being a Queen Mother in Bogyawe, Ghana, being with family and friends, traveling, and a host of other activities.

Demystifying NTUâ„¢

This workshop will introduce participants to the basic elements of our approach and through a didactic and experiential delivery, show its application to client systems work. Participants will learn the foundational elements of NTU™ philosophy, including the principles, and assumptions. Additionally,  participants will be exposed to the NTU™ phases and the use of breathing and mindfulness exercises that are the core of the intervention process.  NTU™ Psychotherapy (pronounced in-to), is an approach to working with families that honors spirituality, culture, family connections, strengths and talents, systemic interconnectedness, and values as a part of the therapeutic process.  This workshop will present the audience with a foundational introduction to the NTU™ Principles of Harmony, Balance, Interconnectedness, and Authenticity and demonstrate how these principles can be used to individuals and systems recognize and maximize their inner resources and strengths, enhance relationships and connectedness with others, and function harmoniously in the broader environment.
