JanQueshia Gay, Program Director | Maryland
JanQueshia Gay, a native of southeast San Diego, has devoted over a decade to mentoring and supporting youth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Morgan State University and a Master’s in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University, earned during the early days of the Black Lives Matter movement. This period highlighted for her the critical need for community change and support.
Her career encompasses various roles in foster care, child welfare, and mental health clinics, where she employs mindfulness and trauma-informed care techniques. She furthered her expertise with a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland-Baltimore, focusing on creating environments that foster self-love, understanding, and growth.
JanQueshia has also led initiatives in the nonprofit sector, advocating for youth and marginalized populations. Committed to equity and community impact, she is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Social Work from Morgan State University, with a focus on the experiences of Black women in leadership roles. Passionate about professional development, she finds fulfillment in nurturing others and continues to develop impactful programs and systems.
